Chapter 14: Compassion
Sarah chose compassion. She used her resources to place Eleanor in a beautiful, private palliative care facility near the coast. The windows overlooked the ocean, bringing a sense of peace to the dying woman. Sarah visited her weekly, sometimes bringing her young daughter, who simply knew Eleanor as ""the nice lady by the sea."" Eleanor spent her final months surrounded by a grace she knew she didn't deserve. In her darkest moments, she had sought to destroy Sarah, but in the end, it was Sarah who held her hand as she walked toward the end of her life.
