Chapter 12: The Visitor

Sarah decided to visit the facility. The visitation room was stark, vastly different from the opulent mansions Eleanor was used to. When Eleanor walked in, she looked older, her silver hair entirely white now, but there was a clarity in her eyes that hadn't been there before. They sat across from each other, separated by a metal table. They talked for an hour—not about the hospital room, but about David. They shared memories of him that only the two of them knew. It wasn't a perfect reconciliation, but it was a bridge built over a chasm of pain.
