Chapter 15: A Tomorrow Worth Living

It was Lily’s fifth birthday. The backyard of the Vance estate was decorated with colorful balloons, ribbons, and a large bouncy castle. Children’s laughter echoed across the garden as Lily blew out the candles on her birthday cake surrounded by family and friends.

Mark, now a frequent and beloved family guest, handed Lily a small wooden toy sailboat he had carved himself. She squealed in delight, giving him a big hug before running off to play with her friends near the fountain.

Eleanor and Victoria stood together on the porch, watching the scene with contented smiles. The stormy days of betrayal, fear, and sorrow had passed, leaving behind a firm foundation of love, truth, and genuine togetherness.

“Look at her, Eleanor,” Victoria said softly, watching Lily laugh. “She is so happy.”
