Chapter 13: The Healing Heart

On a quiet Sunday afternoon, Eleanor, Victoria, and Lily visited the hilltop cemetery overlooking the ocean. Green hills rolled gently down toward the blue horizon, bathed in golden sunlight. Clara’s headstone was carved from pristine white marble, surrounded by blooming white roses.
Lily knelt on the soft grass, placing a hand-drawn picture of a sun and a rainbow at the base of the monument. “I missed you, Mommy,” the child whispered softly. “Grandma and Aunt Victoria take good care of me.”

Victoria knelt beside the little girl, resting her arm gently around Lily’s shoulders. “We talk about you every day, Clara,” Victoria said, her eyes glistening with sweet remembrance rather than grief. “Your daughter has your smile and your stubborn courage.”
Eleanor stood above them, looking up at the clear sky. The painful tightness in her chest was gone, replaced by a deep, enduring warmth. Death had taken Clara’s physical presence, but her spirit lived on in every child saved, every heart healed, and every bond forged in her memory.
