Chapter 13: Healing the Invisible Wounds

Recovery was not an overnight event for Lily. There were nights when thunder storms brought back memories of the crashing sounds at the wedding, but with time, therapy, and unwavering support, the fear lost its sharp edge.
Eleanor enrolled Lily in an art therapy program. In a sunlit classroom filled with paints and clay, Lily began to express her feelings not through quiet tears, but through bright, bold colors.
One evening, Lily brought home a large canvas painted with a glowing golden tree spanning across a dark background.
""What does this represent, sweetie?"" Eleanor asked, admiring the artwork.

""The dark part is the old days,"" Lily explained, pointing her small brush at the bottom of the canvas. ""And the bright tree is us now. It grows bigger because the roots are strong.""
Eleanor hugged her daughter tightly, feeling the quiet strength that had grown within both of them.
