After three days of deliberation, the jury returned to a packed courtroom.
The foreperson stood up, holding the official documents. ""In the matter of State v. Arthur Vance, on Count One, child endangerment and assault, we find the defendant... guilty.""
A collective gasp echoed through the room.
""On Count Two, corporate embezzlement... guilty. On Count Three, witness tampering... guilty.""
Arthur slumped back into his chair, his face drained of all color. The polished armor he had worn for decades was completely dismantled. The judge ordered him remanded into custody immediately without bail, pending sentencing.
