Chapter 15: True North**

Closing time arrived as the sun dipped below the Atlantic horizon, painting the sky in fiery shades of gold, amber, and purple.
Toby stepped outside to bring in the chalkboard menu when he spotted the envelope on the bench. It was addressed simply: *To Toby.*
He brought it inside to Clara. Together, under the warm yellow lights of their bakery kitchen, they opened it.
Inside was no legal document, no money, and no demands. There were only two things: Arthur’s childhood baby book with every page lovingly preserved, and a short handwritten note on plain paper:
> *“Dear Toby,*
> Your father was right. Your mother was right.
> Greatness is not inherited through names or bank accounts; it is built through courage, love, and kindness.
> I am sorry it took losing everything for me to understand that.
> Live your life boldly, my grandson.
> — Eleanor”
Toby looked at the letter, then looked up at his mother. “Are you angry, Mom?”
Clara smiled gently, sliding the letter back into the envelope and placing it on the top shelf beside Arthur’s brass compass.

“No, Toby,” Clara said softly, wrapping an arm around his shoulder as they looked out at the tranquil sea. “Forgiveness isn't about letting someone back into your life. It’s about letting go of the pain so you can keep moving forward.”
Outside, the ocean breeze was cool and clean. Inside, the bakery was filled with warmth, the scent of fresh bread, and the unbreakable bond of a family built on truth.
