Claire tried to regain her composure, smoothing down her designer white dress and adopting a posture of tragic innocence. ""Officers, thank goodness you're here. My husband is having a manic episode brought on by grief, and his staff is conspiring—""

The chief officer inspected the scene, noting the silver knife on the floor and the visible distress on the child’s face. ""Mrs. Vance, we need you to step outside with us to answer some questions regarding art theft and domestic disturbance.""
