Chapter 4 - The Midnight Summons

The crisp autumn air bit sharply at Trina’s skin, but she stood unyielding beside the curb, her cream satin blouse immaculate despite the emotional turbulence of the evening. The man in the charcoal suit stepped forward, nodding respectfully.
"Good evening, Ms. Del Rosario," the man said, his deep voice cutting through the ambient city noise. He glanced briefly at Ramon, who stood frozen with his hand still gripping the handle of Trina's black travel suitcase.
"Good evening, Attorney Santos," Trina replied, her voice steady and authoritative. She pointed a finger at the manila folder in his hand. "Do you have the preliminary asset freezing injunctions ready?"
Attorney Santos opened the folder, revealing several crisp pages covered in legal jargon and corporate seals. "Yes, Ms. Del Rosario. Filed and signed by Judge Mendoza less than twenty minutes ago. Every corporate account, personal asset, and real estate holding linked to Ramon Del Rosario is now officially frozen pending forensic auditing."
Ramon stumbled forward, dropping the suitcase with a heavy thud that rattled the pavement. "You can't do that!" he shouted, his voice cracking with panic. "That's my company too! I built half of those portfolios from scratch!"
Attorney Santos didn't even flinch. He looked at Ramon with clinical detachment. "Corporate registry records show ninety percent of the initial seed funding was transferred from accounts exclusively under Ms. Del Rosario’s sole proprietorship. You are listed as an operational director, Mr. Del Rosario, not a primary shareholder."
Lisa gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. She stared at Ramon, the man she had planned to build a future with, realizing for the first time that his entire persona was built on a foundation of sand and stolen capital. "Ramon... is that true? Everything you told me about your wealth... was it hers?"
Ramon ignored Lisa entirely, his eyes fixed on Trina with a look of desperate betrayal. "Trina, please. After everything we’ve been through? Five years of marriage, all the dinners, the trips, the plans? You’re going to destroy me over a misunderstanding?"
"A misunderstanding?" Trina stepped forward, her face inches from his. The pain in her eyes had hardened into pure, glacial ice. "You drained our joint funds to buy tickets for another woman, you moved my belongings out of our home, and you lied to both of us for months. That isn't a misunderstanding, Ramon. That's financial fraud and calculated betrayal."
She turned to Attorney Santos. "Serve him the papers."
The lawyer extended a single copy of the injunction toward Ramon. Ramon’s hands shook violently as he reached out to take the papers, his fingers brushing the cold paper. Before he could grasp them fully, his phone buzzed again. It wasn't a bank notification this time; it was an urgent email alert from the corporate server.

Ramon slowly pulled out his phone and stared at the glowing screen, his eyes widening in sheer horror as he read the subject line: SYSTEM ACCESS TERMINATED: ALL CREDENTIALS REVOKED.
