One year later, the Sterling penthouse had been completely redesigned. The cold, forbidding glass atrium had been replaced with warm timber beams, vibrant green indoor gardens, and wide, sunlit terraces filled with colorful children's toys and family portraits.

Julian stood by the window on a crisp autumn morning, holding a cup of black coffee. Outside, the city skyline gleamed in the golden morning light, but it no longer felt like a fortress of isolation.

"Dad! Look what Clara and I made!"

Ewan came sprinting through the living room, carrying a large handmade model of a solar system, followed closely by Clara, whose laughter filled the open space. She wore an apron dusted with paint and glitter, her hair tied in a loose bun, looking radiant and completely at home.

"Is that Saturn?" Julian asked, kneeling down to inspect the papier-mâché planet.

"Yes! And this little star right next to it is Mom," Ewan said proudly, pointing to a silver-painted star at the center of the orbit. "She watches over all the planets."

Julian looked up at Clara, reaching for her hand and pulling her down beside them. He slipped his arm around her waist, kissing her temple where the old scar had completely faded into smooth skin.
