Chapter 14: Unspoken Truths**

That night, after the celebrations had wound down and Ewan was fast asleep in his new bedroom with his golden retriever puppy curled at his feet, Julian found Clara sitting on the estate's library terrace under a blanket of stars.
He walked over and offered her a cup of hot chocolate. "Penny for your thoughts?"
Clara smiled, accepting the mug. "I was just thinking about that night in the penthouse. When Victoria had me pinned against the floor. I was terrified not because I was hurt, but because I thought no one would ever hear the truth."
Julian sat beside her on the stone ledge, looking out over the quiet hills. "I heard you, Clara. And I'm never letting anyone hurt you again."
The air grew still between them, charged with an emotion that had quietly evolved from shared loyalty into profound affection. Julian reached out, his warm fingers gently brushing against the faint, healed mark near her temple.
"You gave up five years of your own life to protect another woman's child," Julian murmured softly. "You are the bravest person I have ever known."
Clara's breath caught slightly as she looked into his dark eyes. "I didn't do it out of duty, Julian. I did it because I loved Ewan. And because... I believed in the man his father could become."

Julian leaned in slowly, closing the distance between them, and pressed a tender, lingering kiss to her lips. In the quiet darkness of the terrace, two fractured souls finally found their anchor.
