Chapter 15 - The Final Vow

Sarah stood on the pavement, her dark hair catching the golden morning sunlight, her eyes locked dead on Julian and Lily. She didn't rush forward; she stood frozen for a long, poignant moment, as if afraid that the reality of the moment might shatter like glass.

Lily stirred on Clara’s lap, blinking her sleepy blue eyes open. She looked up, rubbed her face with her small fists, and then froze.

"Mommy?" Lily whispered, her voice cracking with pure disbelief.

Sarah broke down, tears streaming freely down her face as she sprinted up the stone steps, dropping to her knees and wrapping her arms around her daughter with a fierce, unbreakable grip. "My baby... my sweet, brave baby girl."

Julian stood up slowly, watching his wife and daughter embrace in the golden morning light. Clara stood beside him, offering a quiet, respectful nod before stepping back toward the waiting federal vehicle that would take her to safety and a new beginning.

Sarah looked up from Lily, her tear-filled eyes meeting Julian’s across the short distance. She stood slowly, walking right up to him and placing her hands gently against his chest, feeling the steady, rhythmic beating of his heart.

"You kept our family together, Julian," Sarah whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.

Julian pulled her into his arms, resting his chin on top of her head as the morning breeze rustled the white lace remnants of the chapel decorations. "We're home, Sarah. Together, forever."

Behind them, the church bells began to ring out across the city, welcoming a brand-new day filled with truth, redemption, and an enduring love that no betrayal could ever truly destroy. The nightmare was over, and their real life was finally beginning.
