The amber bottle held a compound far more dangerous than simple sedatives: an unregulated synthetic alkaloid known to induce cardiac arrhythmia and progressive cognitive decline. It left minimal traces in standard toxicology panels unless specifically targeted.

Elena remembered a private courier service that delivered Mark's personal mail to his downtown office. Taking a calculated risk, she visited the courier hub, presenting Mark’s shared business account credentials before his legal team could freeze them.

The clerk handed over a small, signature-required parcel that had arrived that morning from a compounding lab in Pennsylvania.

Elena didn't open it. She called Diaz immediately from the parking lot. "I have the supplier’s package. It’s addressed to Mark under his firm’s alias."
