Chapter 14: The Fall
Panic flashed in Nathan's eyes. The illusion of his power shattered in an instant. Sirens began to wail in the distance, a massive symphony of red and blue lights approaching the glass building. The guards, realizing they had just been broadcast as accomplices to mass murder, slowly lowered their weapons and backed away from Nathan.
Nathan lunged at Grace in a desperate, animalistic rage, but she sidestepped him, tripping him onto the cold concrete floor. ""It's over, Nathan,"" she said, looking down at him. ""Your math was wrong.""
