Chapter 11: The House of Cards Collapses

A chorus of gasps erupted around the boardroom table. Board members scrambled out of their leather chairs, distancing themselves from Arthur as if he carried a lethal contagion.
"This is absurd!" Arthur shouted, his face turning an ugly shade of crimson. "You have no proof! My lawyers will have your badges for this witch hunt!"
"We have Victoria Vance’s sworn confession," Julian replied calmly, stepping up to the head of the table. "We also have the physical ledger and audio files recovered three hours ago from your safety deposit box at Manhattan Trust. Would you like us to play the audio where you explicitly instructed the mechanic to tamper with Victor’s brake lines?"
Arthur’s knees gave out, and he sank heavily back into his chair. The golden cane slipped from his fingers, clattering loudly against the marble floor.
For decades, Arthur had believed his wealth made him a deity, untouchable by the laws of ordinary men. But looking into Julian’s unblinking eyes, he saw only the reflection of his brother Victor—a man of integrity who could never be bought.
Federal agents stepped forward, pulling Arthur’s arms behind his back and clicking the steel cuffs over his wrists.
"You ruined us, Julian..." Arthur hissed, his voice cracked and hollow as he was hoisted to his feet. "You ruined the Sterling legacy..."
May you like
"No, Arthur," Julian said softly as the agents led the disgraced patriarch away. "You ruined yourself. The Sterling legacy starts today—with honor, not blood."
Julian turned to the stunned board members. "Meeting dismissed. Prepare for a total forensic audit of every division by Monday morning."
