Chapter 10: The Boardroom Ambush

Friday morning arrived with an icy autumn sun illuminating the glass towers of Manhattan. At the Sterling Global headquarters on 57th Street, the thirty-second floor boardroom was filled with senior board members, major institutional investors, and Arthur Sterling sitting at the head of the mahogany conference table.

Arthur wore a smug, victorious grin. His hired operatives had failed at the estate, but they had been paid enough to keep their mouths shut upon arrest. In his mind, Julian had no hard evidence linking him directly to the break-in.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the board," Arthur began, standing with aristocratic poise. "Due to recent tragic instabilities in the family, I am officially moving for an emergency vote to revoke the voting rights of Victor Sterling’s estate and install myself as permanent Executive Chairman."

"Seconded," called out one of Arthur’s loyal puppets.

"All those in favor—"

The heavy boardroom double doors swung open with a resounding bang.

Julian walked in, dressed in a sharp charcoal three-piece suit, his eyes gleaming with cold authority. Beside him walked Federal Prosecutor Evelyn Reed, flanked by four armed FBI agents carrying sealed evidence boxes.

"This meeting is officially adjourned," Julian announced, his voice reverberating through the glass chamber.

Arthur’s face tightened, but he scoffed dismissively. "Julian, you can't disrupt a shareholder meeting with theatrics. Security, escort my nephew out!"

"Your security has already been detained, Uncle Arthur," Prosecutor Reed said, stepping forward and dropping a federal arrest warrant onto the table in front of him. "Arthur Sterling, you are under federal indictment for racketeering, money laundering, and the murder of Victor Sterling."
