CHAPTER 10: THE FALL OF DOMINIC

""Am I alone?"" Vincent asked, setting his glass down.
Suddenly, floodlights erupted from every balcony overlooking the foyer. Dozens of federal agents and state police officers, weapons drawn, filled the upper levels.
""Federal agents! Drop your weapons! Hands in the air!"" heavy footsteps echoed through the hall.
Dominic’s face drained of color. ""You... you called the Feds?!""
""I didn't call them for me,"" Vincent said, standing up calmly. ""I gave them three decades of your syndicate's extortion records, human trafficking operations, and murder charges. I handed them everything.""
Dominic turned his gun toward Vincent in a panic, but a sniper round from an officer on the balcony took the weapon cleanly out of his hand. Within seconds, Dominic, Anthony, and their men were pinned to the floor in handcuffs.
As Dominic was dragged away, he spat at Vincent. ""You ruined yourself, Corneille! You're going to prison too!""
May you like
Vincent smiled softly, adjusting his tie. ""I know.""
