Chapter 15: True Luxury

Five years later, the scene was vastly different. A massive charity gala was underway at the Sterling Estate. The room was filled with the city's elite, but they weren't there to flaunt their wealth; they were there to write checks for the nationwide expansion of The Haven.
At the center of it all stood Maya, wearing a simple, elegant gown, the silver chain resting proudly on her chest. Beside her stood Victoria, now the Director of Operations for the Sterling Foundation. She wore a modest dress, her smile genuine, her eyes alight with purpose. Arthur watched them from the balcony, a glass of water in his hand. The shattered glass of the past had been swept away, replaced by something much stronger. They had all learned the hardest, most beautiful lesson: True luxury isn't what you can afford to buy; it is what you can afford to give away.
