A week later, Arthur walked into The Haven. The room fell silent as the billionaire navigated the crowded room. He walked straight to the kitchen where Victoria was wiping down tables. She stiffened, expecting the final blow.
Arthur looked at her bruised hands and her tired, honest eyes. "I bought your company to break you," Arthur said bluntly. "My daughter stopped me. She believed people could change. I didn't." He paused, pulling a business card from his coat. "The Sterling Foundation needs a logistics director. Someone who knows how to organize, manage, and execute under pressure. The pay is modest, but the work matters. If you're interested, call my office." He turned and walked away, leaving Victoria holding the card, trembling with a second chance she knew she hadn't earned.
