Chapter 7: A Bridge of Gratitude

Jax invited Arthur inside, extending a warm hand of gratitude. ""Thank you for everything you've done for Clara and my son. Words aren't enough to repay you.""
Arthur shook Jax's hand firmly. ""No repayment needed, son. When I found Clara washed up near my farm, she was barely breathing. My wife and I lost our own daughter years ago... taking Clara in was a blessing from God for us. She gave us a reason to live, and little Leo brought light back into our home.""
The family sat around the dining table. Arthur shared stories of Leo’s first steps, Clara’s hard work at the local bakery, and her endless search for clues about her past.
""She kept a notebook,"" Arthur revealed, pulling a small, worn leather journal from his coat pocket and placing it on the table. ""Every time she had a dream or a feeling about a place, she wrote it down. She never stopped looking for you, Jax, even when her own mind was working against her.""
Jax reached for the notebook, opening the yellowed pages. Inside were hand-drawn sketches of the park fountain, notes about a blue door, and repeated sentences: Find Lily. Find home.

Clara looked down at her lap, her voice barely audible. ""I was afraid I was crazy.""
Jax placed his hand over hers, holding it firmly. ""You were never crazy. You were just finding your way home.""
