Chapter 14: The Family Journal

A year later, the house was filled with warmth, noise, and life. The garden bloomed once again, and the kitchen was constantly filled with the scent of fresh bread—a habit Clara brought from her time working at the bakery.

Arthur had officially relocated to a small cottage down the street, becoming a beloved grandfather figure to both Lily and Leo.

One evening, Clara sat at the dining table with the old leather journal Arthur had given her—the notebook full of fragmented dreams and desperate notes.

Leo and Lily ran into the room, carrying drawing paper and crayons. ""Mommy, look! We drew our family!"" Leo shouted proudly, laying the paper on the table.

The drawing showed five people standing hand-in-hand near a fountain: Jax, Clara, Lily, Leo, and Grandpa Arthur, with a bright yellow sun shining overhead.

Clara smiled deeply, touching the children's drawing. She picked up a pen, opened the last blank page of her old journal, and began to write.

“I once thought my life was broken beyond repair, lost in the river of time. But love is not something that can be washed away. It lingers in the quietest places, waiting for us to find our way back. We are not defined by the years we lost, but by the love we choose to build today.”
