The small coastal cottage nestled atop the cliffs just north of Sea-Cliff House glowed with warm, golden light against the encroaching twilight. A gentle fire crackled in the stone hearth, casting dancing shadows across hardwood floors free of corporate ledgers, antique dining tables, or oppressive family heirlooms. The scent of pine, saltwater, and freshly baked bread filled the cozy kitchen.

Clara stood by the open kitchen window, looking out over the vast, darkening expanse of the Pacific Ocean where the sun was melting into the horizon in brilliant streaks of violet and gold. Her hands rested gently on her rounded stomach, feeling the undeniable, reassuring movement of new life—a child born not of corporate contract or dynastic ambition, but of genuine choice, mutual respect, and fierce, unyielding love.

Behind her, the sound of heavy footsteps approached, followed by strong, familiar arms wrapping gently around her waist. Sebastian rested his chin comfortably on her shoulder, breathing in the scent of her hair.
