Chapter 7: The Confrontation

Julian pulled a thick leather folder from inside his coat and threw it onto a rusted workbench between them. "That's the original deed to the eastern sector land. The land your club used for thirty years. If Victoria releases the trust funds, the city forecloses on every home in that district including Sarah's diner. She thinks she's saving people, but she's destroying them."
Jax looked down at the folder, then back at Julian. "She knows what's in that file, Julian. That's why she put the land in Leo's name."
Julian froze. "What?"
"Leo isn't just a messenger," Jax revealed, his voice dropping to a gravelly whisper. "He's your nephew. David's son."
The air seemed to leave Julian's lungs all at once. The name David hung between them like a heavy weight—the brother Julian had cut out of his life twenty years ago during his ruthless ascent to power.

"David... died six years ago," Julian stammered, his eyes widening.
"He died broke and forgotten," Jax said coldly. "While you were buying wine at galas. Victoria found his boy living in a state home two years ago. She didn't plan a corporate trap for you, Julian. She built a mirror."
