"The federal judgment was officially entered into the public record ten minutes ago," David announced, walking out onto the balcony and handing her a slice of pizza on a paper plate. "Julian’s appeal was summarily dismissed by the circuit court due to lack of substantive grounds. It’s officially over, Clara."
Clara took a bite, looking out across the glittering skyline with a deep sense of peaceful closure. "I never doubted the law, David. But more importantly, I never doubted myself.
