Chapter 1 - The Driveway Confrontation

The suburban sun beat down relentlessly onto the freshly paved driveway, reflecting off the gleaming chrome of the blue vintage Chevrolet pickup truck. Marcus stood just three feet away, his phone raised to capture every second of the abuse of power unfolding before him. Officer Miller, a forty-five-year-old veteran of the local police department with a heavy duty belt and a cold, unyielding stare, planted his boots firmly on the concrete. Behind him, a tow truck driver idled his engine, eagerly waiting to haul away property that belonged to Marcus by absolute legal right.
"That truck is being impounded," Officer Miller said firmly, his voice cutting through the humid afternoon air with an arrogant edge. "You're not leaving with it."
Marcus didn't flinch. He kept his camera steady, his breathing slow and measured. "It's legally parked on private property," Marcus replied, his tone controlled and dangerously calm. "You have no warrant, no court order, and no legal basis to seize it."
Officer Miller stepped closer, invading Marcus’s personal space in a blatant intimidation tactic. The officer’s face flushed with anger at being challenged in broad daylight in front of the neighborhood onlookers who had gathered on the sidewalk.
"Keep arguing and you'll be coming with me," Miller snapped, his hand dropping menacingly toward the steel cuffs hanging from his tactical belt.
"I'm stating facts, Officer," Marcus said, his voice remaining level despite the escalating threat. "You're violating my civil rights, and this entire interaction is streaming live to a cloud server."
Without another word, Miller lunged forward, grabbing Marcus by the shoulder and spinning him around against the side of the vintage truck. The cold steel of the handcuffs clicked shut tightly around Marcus’s wrists with a harsh, metallic bite. The neighborhood gasped, but Marcus didn't scream or fight back. He simply endured the physical restraint, keeping his eyes locked onto the aggressive cop's badge number.
Marcus turned his head slightly, looking directly into the officer’s eyes with an unsettling, absolute confidence. "Look behind my driver's license before you make this mistake," Marcus whispered.
Officer Miller stopped dead in his tracks, holding the handcuff chain taut as a heavy, suffocating tension suddenly gripped the driveway.

Miller stared intently, his brow furrowing as doubt crept into his eyes. "What's behind your driver's license?"
