Chapter 13 - The Final Condition

All movement in the private office froze instantly. The sobbing influencer dropped her hands, her red, swollen eyes darting frantically between Arthur’s stone-cold expression and Mia’s calm, composed face.
“A condition?” the woman whispered, her voice cracking with desperate hope. “What... what condition? I’ll do anything. Name it.”
Mia stepped slowly out from behind the mahogany desk, walking across the Persian rug until she stood just a few feet away from the broken creator. She looked down at the woman not with anger or superiority, but with a profound, unsettling clarity.
“I don't want your money, and I don't want your public apology video,” Mia said quietly, her voice carrying an effortless authority that commanded the entire room. “Public apologies on social media are just another form of performance for the algorithm. They aren't real.”
“Then what do you want?” the influencer pleaded, her knees practically shaking beneath her designer trousers. “Please, just tell me how to fix this.”
“You are going to step away from the internet permanently,” Mia stated, her dark eyes locking onto the woman’s terrified gaze. “For the next twelve months, every single week, you will spend twenty hours working community service at the local downtown soup kitchen—the exact same kitchen where our cafe donates its leftover meals every single night. You will chop vegetables, wash dishes, and clean the floors with your own hands, without a smartphone, without a camera, and without an audience.”
The influencer stared at Mia as if she had spoken in a foreign language. Her jaw went slack in absolute disbelief. “Community service? Washing dishes? Without a phone? But... that’s... that’s manual labor! That’s what you do! I’m a digital creator!”
“And now you are a human being learning what real work looks like,” Arthur added from his armchair, tapping his wooden cane sharply against the floor to punctuate his words. “Those are the terms. Accept them, and the Sterling legal team will reduce the monetary damages to a symbolic fine. Reject them, and Marcus will pursue maximum asset forfeiture through federal court until you are entirely stripped of everything you own.”
The choice was absolute, brutal, and utterly inescapable. The influencer looked around the mahogany-paneled room, realizing with horrifying clarity that her lavish, superficial world of digital smoke and mirrors was gone forever. There were no shortcuts left, no sympathetic followers to manipulate, and no corporate safety nets to catch her fall.
With trembling lips and a defeated posture that spoke louder than any words, the woman slowly nodded her head.
“I... I accept,” she whispered, the defeat crushing the last remaining fragments of her inflated ego.

“Marcus, draft the binding legal stipulation immediately,” Arthur instructed, leaning back into his leather chair with a quiet, satisfied sigh. “And make sure compliance is monitored weekly.”
