Chapter 7: The Downfall Begins**

“Arthur... Mr. Sterling,” Julian stuttered, the umbrella shaking slightly in his hand. “Let’s not be hasty. This is all a misunderstanding. We’re family—or we were about to be! We can merge the assets. Elena and I can build something monumental together.”
Elena looked at Julian with pure disgust. “You tried to murder my father on the interstate twelve hours ago.”
“It was business! Pressure!” Julian yelled desperately, stepping forward with outstretched hands. “Elena, look at what I built for us! Without me, you’re just the daughter of a ghost!”
Suddenly, the wail of sirens cut through the torrential downpour.
Four unmarked state police cruisers and two federal law enforcement sedans sped down the highway, boxing Julian’s SUV against the iron gates. Armed federal agents stepped out into the rain, badges flashing under the headlights.
Special Agent Marcus Vance stepped forward, holding a federal arrest warrant. “Julian Vance. You are under arrest for attempted murder, corporate espionage, and federal bank fraud.”
Julian backed away, his face turning ghostly white. “You have no jurisdiction here! I have friends in the local department!”

“Your local friends are currently being questioned by the Attorney General,” Agent Vance replied coldly. “Special thanks to Mr. Sterling, who delivered hard copies of your offshore transactions to the federal branch at 6:00 AM this morning before driving up here.”
