The state Attorney General’s executive conference room felt stark and uncompromising under the bright midday fluorescent lights. Assistant AG David Vance sat at the head of the table, reviewing Clara’s newly presented ledger with rapt attention. Beside him, two state investigators nodded in solemn agreement as they verified the authenticity of the sixty-year-old signature countersigned by a young Victoria Vance.
"This changes everything," David announced, looking up from the leather-bound ledger. "This isn't just a corporate oversight or a zoning error anymore. This is premeditated corporate fraud involving active, documented concealment of public trust property. We can issue an immediate warrant for a full asset seizure and compel Victoria Vance to appear for a mandatory deposition within twenty-four hours."
