Chapter 11: The Biker's Vow

That evening, Jax called a meeting at the motorcycle club’s garage. All twelve members of the club sat around the large wooden table in the back room, watching Jax as he took off his leather vest—the vest he had worn every day for fifteen years.

""What are you doing, Jax?"" Big Mike asked, frowning.

""I'm stepping down as Road Captain,"" Jax said, laying the heavy leather vest flat on the table. ""I can't take long road trips anymore. I can't risk my life on the highway late at night. I'm a father now. Leo needs me home every evening for dinner, and he needs me alive to watch him grow up.""

The room was completely silent for a long moment. The men looked at the vest, then at Jax, whose jaw was set with unwavering determination.

Big Mike stood up slowly, walked over to Jax, and picked up the vest. He handed it right back to Jax.

""You don't have to leave the club to be a good dad, brother,"" Mike said, his voice deep and sincere. ""We're changing your role. You run the repair shop here during the day. Regular hours. No late-night runs. And whenever Leo needs anything, he’s got twelve uncles ready to back him up.""

The other club members nodded in agreement, pounding their fists on the wooden table in solidarity. Jax looked around the room at his brothers, overwhelmed by their unexpected warmth and support. He put the vest back on, realizing he didn't have to walk this new path alone.
