Marcus tried to speak, but the words caught in his throat. Sarah looked up. For a fraction of a second, surprise flickered in her eyes, quickly replaced by utter indifference. She didn't flinch. She didn't cower. "Can I help you, sir?" she asked, her tone entirely professional. Marcus stammered, looking at Leo. "Leo... look how big you are." Leo stopped wiping the counter. He looked at the man in the expensive suit, feeling no connection, only a vague pity. "Hi," Leo said calmly, before turning back to his mother. "I'll be in the back, Mom."
