Chapter 13: Breaking the Cycle
When Marcus frantically arrived at the bakery two hours later, following the police tracker, he expected anger. He expected Sarah to use his daughter to humiliate him. Instead, he walked in to see Leo sitting at the table, patiently teaching his half-sister how to draw a dog, while Sarah boxed up some leftover pastries for them. There was no malice in the room, only grace. Marcus broke down. He fell to his knees, burying his face in his hands, weeping for the years he had wasted and the beautiful family he had thrown away.
