Marcus couldn't let it go. The sight of Sarah's success and Leo's quiet dignity shattered his ego. He began sending expensive gifts to the bakery—laptops, designer clothes, checks for thousands of dollars. Every single package was returned unopened. Finally, he waited outside the shop after closing. "Sarah, please. I want to be in my son's life. I can give him everything." Sarah locked the door and turned to him. "You gave him everything he needed the day you kicked us out. You gave him the chance to be raised with love, not conditions. Go home, Marcus."
