Two years passed.
The Dr. Thomas Green Memorial Health Institute opened its doors on a crisp autumn morning. Thousands of neighborhood residents attended the opening festival. Children ran through the landscaped courtyards, and local doctors gave tours of the modern pediatric wings and dental clinics.
Arthur and Eleanor stood near the entrance, watching Lily hand out colorful balloons to other children.
Julian walked up, wearing a casual polo shirt instead of his old stifling suits, looking healthier and happier than ever. "We just registered our five-hundredth patient for next week's preventative care screenings."
"Your father would be proud, Julian," Eleanor said gently.
Julian looked toward the clinic’s dedication plaque, which honored Dr. Green's sacrifice while acknowledging the Sterling family's commitment to restitution.
