Chapter 14 - The Final Broadcast

The morning sun broke through the storm clouds, casting a sharp, golden light across the plaza outside the federal courthouse. Massive electronic billboards that typically displayed corporate advertisements for the Sterling dynasty now flickered erratically before locking onto a single, unyielding live broadcast. Millions of viewers across America tuned in as Dominic uploaded the complete medical registry, financial ledgers, and Dr. Arthur Vance's final recorded testimony directly to the emergency public broadcast network. Elena stood on the courthouse steps, wearing a simple dark coat over her repaired pastel dress, her dark hair tied back neatly, her posture unyielding and resolute.
Julian and Beatrice Sterling sat in handcuffs on the defendant's bench inside the courtroom, watching the massive monitors outside through the tall arched windows with expressions of absolute horror.
The federal prosecutor stepped out onto the courthouse steps, holding the signed arrest warrants for every co-conspirator in the Department of Justice and the corporate boardrooms.
Reporters shouted questions from behind the barricades, thrusting microphones toward Elena as she walked slowly toward the podium.
Elena raised a hand, her voice steady, clear, and carrying across the hushed plaza without a single tremor of fear.
"For years, the Sterling dynasty believed they could buy our silence, rig our lives, and bury our truths in concrete and shadows," Elena spoke into the forest of microphones.
"They thought an empire built on stolen lives and fraudulent science could stand forever."
A reporter from the front row interrupted loudly.
"Ms. Vance, what happens to the Sterling pharmaceutical empire now?"
Elena looked directly into the camera lens, knowing that Julian and Beatrice were watching her every move from inside the holding cell.
"The empire is dismantled. Every asset has been returned to the public trust, and the true formula for healing has been released to independent researchers worldwide."
She paused, letting the weight of her words settle over the stunned crowd before delivering the final blow.
"You tried to write our tragedy, Julian. But today, we write the ending."

As federal marshals led Julian and Beatrice out the side doors of the courthouse in heavy chains, the final chapter of their corruption closed for good.
