Chapter 11: The Birth of Hope

Throughout the long, stormy night, the power remained out, but the bedroom was filled with the warm, flickering glow of dozens of candles. With no doctor able to reach the isolated estate, Mrs. Gable—who had delivered babies in her youth—guided Clara through the painful labor, while Julian never left her side.

Julian held Clara’s hand, wiping the sweat from her brow, whispering words of encouragement with every contraction. For a man who had controlled multi-billion-dollar corporate empires, he had never felt so humbled or powerless, yet so deeply connected to another human soul.

"One more push, Clara, my dear! Just one more!" Mrs. Gable urged.

Clara cried out, gathering every ounce of strength remaining in her exhausted body, holding Julian’s eyes as she gave everything she had.

At 3:14 AM, as the thunder echoed over the ocean, a sharp, clear cry pierced the quiet room.

Mrs. Gable smiled broadly, wrapping the newborn in a soft, warm blanket. "It’s a boy," she whispered tearfully. "A healthy, beautiful baby boy."

Mrs. Gable placed the child into Clara’s weak arms. Clara looked down at her son—his tiny head covered in dark hair, his little fingers reaching out blindly. Tears of relief streamed down her face.

Julian leaned over, staring in awe at the fragile life they had brought into the world. He gently stroked the baby's tiny cheek. "He’s perfect," Julian whispered, his eyes shining with emotion.
