Chapter 13: The Final Confrontation

"Intruders in the broadcast control room!"

The automated security warning blared through the overhead speakers just as the heavy glass double doors at the entrance of the room hissed open. Three armed private security guards in black tactical gear poured into the space, their weapons raised and trained directly on Arthur and Elena.

"Freeze! Step away from the console!" the lead guard shouted, his voice echoing sharply across the expansive room.

Elena didn't hesitate. With a fierce cry, she stepped in front of the console, raising the wooden baseball bat in a defensive stance, her posture radiating absolute defiance. "You're too late! The upload is already at ninety percent!" she screamed back, baring her teeth in rage.

Arthur’s eyes darted to the large progress bar on the central monitor. Ninety-five percent. Ninety-eight percent.

The lead guard lowered his weapon slightly, his expression shifting from aggression to absolute panic as he realized what was happening. "Shoot them! Stop the transmission!" he barked to the others.

Before the guards could pull their triggers, the heavy metal security shutters across the room's observation windows suddenly slammed down with a resounding crash—not from the guards, but from an automated override sequence triggered by the core network itself. At the exact same second, the central monitor flashed a brilliant, blinding green checkmark.

Across the curved wall of monitors, the encrypted files—detailing the illegal human trials, the financial corruption, and the systematic cover-ups—began streaming live to every major news network, independent journalist, and regulatory agency around the globe.

"No!" the lead guard screamed in absolute horror, lunging forward to physically rip the console cables out of the wall, but it was already too late. The data had escaped the cage.
