Chapter 6: The Canvas in the Studio

Two weeks later, Clara arrived at the conservatory to find a large, wooden-framed crate sitting in the entryway, delivered by private courier.
Attached was a handwritten note on architectural vellum:
*A space that holds so much music deserves to hold light. — Liam.*
Clara carefully unscrewed the wooden backing to reveal a breathtaking, custom-designed stained-glass panel. The glass depicted an abstract, flowing river made of emerald, indigo, and amber shards, catching the morning sun and scattering prismatic rainbows across the studio floorboards.
Later that afternoon, when Liam arrived with Maya, he found Clara standing before the glowing panel, her eyes misted with emotion.
""You made this?"" Clara asked, turning to him.
""I used to work in structural glass before I took over corporate development,"" Liam smiled faintly, rubbing the back of his neck with characteristic humility. ""It was my first love. Designing spaces where light changes throughout the day depending on how the sun moves.""
""It’s magnificent,"" Clara whispered, stepping closer to him. ""It feels like a visual hymn.""
Maya sat at the piano bench, watching the colored light dance across the black-and-white keys. She began pressing notes that matched the colors in her mind—deep bass for the dark blue glass, shimmering high trebles for the amber sunlight.
Liam walked over to the bench, sitting on Maya’s other side. For the first time, he joined in, playing a simple rhythmic accompaniment with his left hand that he remembered from his college days.
Clara picked up her violin, tucking it under her chin.

In that sunlit studio, surrounded by dancing prisms of colored glass, the three of them created a symphony without sheet music—an unscripted conversation of wood, wire, and healing hearts.
