Julian plugged the micro-SD card into an encrypted satellite laptop. As the files decrypted, years of deceit unraveled before his eyes.

Clara’s video logs appeared on the screen, dated five years earlier. Her tired, beautiful face filled the display.

*“Julian, if you’re seeing this, it means I failed to expose Arthur Sterling. He wanted my neural regeneration formula to create a monopoly on synthetic pharmaceuticals. When I refused, he threatened our unborn child. He staged your crash to force Vance Industries into a vulnerable merger with Sterling Enterprises. I went into hiding to synthesize the cure into Lily’s unique bloodline. Her touch can stimulate dormant cellular pathways. Protect her from Arthur and Victoria. They will kill to keep their pharmaceutical empire intact.”*

The screen transitioned into spreadsheets containing financial transfers, offshore bank accounts, and hit contracts signed by Arthur Sterling himself.

Julian felt a profound sense of sorrow and rage. Clara had spent five years running through shadows to save him and protect their daughter, eventually succumbing to an induced medical coma at a remote hospice owned by Sterling’s affiliates.
