Chapter 15: The Dawn We Chose

The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the suburban sky in warm shades of amber, violet, and soft rose. Julian stood on the front porch with Clara cradled securely against his chest, watching the gentle rustle of the autumn leaves blowing across the manicured lawn. Sarah joined him, stepping out into the cool evening air and resting her head gently against his shoulder, her olive-green shirt brushing softly against his maroon shirt.

The nightmare of the Vance estate was officially part of the past, a closed chapter sealed not by fear, but by truth and resilience. The brown document folder that had once represented their imprisonment was now sitting in a federal archive box miles away, gathering dust alongside the broken remains of an empire built on control.

"She’s falling asleep," Sarah whispered, looking down at Clara’s heavy eyelids as the infant drifted off into peaceful slumber against her father's chest.
