Chapter 10: The Art of Healing

The opening night of Sarah's art gallery, titled Resilience, was a resounding success. The gallery was filled with warm lighting, soft classical music, and local art enthusiasts.

Her signature piece, hung in the center of the main wall, was a large oil painting. It depicted a storm tearing through a dense forest, but in the center of the canvas, a single, golden beam of sunlight pierced through the dark clouds, illuminating a small sprout growing from the shattered earth.

Toby stood next to his mother, dressed in a sharp little blazer, proudly telling visitors, ""My mom painted that!""

Glen was there too, standing quietly near the back of the room, holding a bouquet of white lilies. He didn't intrude, but his presence was a quiet testament to his support.

A man named David, a local landscape architect who had recently moved to the area, stood in front of Sarah's main painting for a long time. Sarah walked over to him.

""It speaks to you?"" Sarah asked softly.

David turned, offering a warm, genuine smile. ""It tells a story of survival. It doesn't pretend the storm didn't happen; it just proves that life finds a way to bloom anyway. It's breathtaking.""

Sarah felt a gentle flutter in her heart—a feeling she thought she had lost forever. ""Thank you,"" she said. ""That's exactly what I wanted to convey.""

As David continued chatting with her about her technique, Sarah caught Glen's eye across the room. Glen offered a small, approving nod, silently acknowledging that Sarah was finally moving forward into a brighter, happier life.
