Chapter 13

Inside the brightly lit study of Prosecutor Weber’s villa, the digital evidence scrolled down the laptop screen with undeniable clarity. Hans Weber sat in his leather armchair, his hands trembling slightly as he read through the itemized list of forged authorizations and illicit money transfers that spanned his entire tenure. The realization that he had been used as an unwitting pawn by Arthur Sterling’s global cartel hit him with crushing force. Julian stood by the window, looking out into the snowy garden where Marcus maintained a silent watch near the perimeter.

"This... this is complete forgery," Weber whispered, looking up at Julian with wide, panicked eyes. "If I present this to the federal tribunal, the entire Swiss banking board will collapse before sunrise."

"That is precisely the objective," Julian replied, his voice steady and devoid of triumph. "Arthur built an empire on the illusion that institutions are too big to fail. But an institution built on fraud collapses the moment the truth is brought into the light."

Weber nodded slowly, the panic in his eyes giving way to a cold, professional resolve. He reached for his secure landline phone, bypassing the mobile network entirely to prevent signal interception. "I am issuing an emergency tribunal summons for every registered director of the Alpine Trust Corporation. We are executing immediate asset seizures across all five Swiss cantons."

"Do it now," Julian said. "Before they have time to purge the secondary servers."

Within twenty minutes, the quiet alpine lanes surrounding the prosecutor's villa filled with the silent, flashing blue lights of federal tactical units moving in unison to secure the homes of the remaining corporate directors. The synchronized raids unfolded across Zurich, Geneva, and Bern with military precision. Arthur Sterling, sitting in his holding cell back in New York, would soon learn that his empire was not merely paused—it was being systematically dismantled piece by piece, brick by brick, until nothing remained of the foundation he had spent a lifetime corrupting. Julian watched the activity unfold on the secure monitor in the study, feeling a profound, quiet sense of release wash over him. The ghost of his father could finally rest.

Marcus stepped back into the study from the hallway, his face neutral. "The local perimeter is secured. Erika reports that the Zurich board members are already being brought into custody."

Julian turned away from the window, buttoning his charcoal sweater as he prepared for the final phase of the journey home.
