CHAPTER 10: THE SIGNAL FIRES

Toby turned back to the transmitter console. With a steady hand, he entered Clara's master override sequence: *VERITAS-72*.
The main terminal hummed to life with blinding blue light. Across the continental United States, news networks, regulatory dashboards, and Department of Justice servers received the unredacted files of Project Aegis—along with the complete financial ledgers of the Red Syndicate.
Within minutes, syndicate safehouses were raided in four international capitals. Shell bank accounts were frozen. The seventy-two protected children were permanently classified under federal immunity programs, shielded forever from exploitation.
On the rooftop, federal transport helicopters circled overhead, their searchlights illuminating the figures standing in the rain.
Crane sat on an equipment crate, looking up at the sky with a strange, unfamiliar peace washing over his face. "Your mother was a genius, kid."
"No," Toby replied gently, wrapping his jacket tighter around himself. "She was just a mother who believed the world could do better."
May you like
Raymond walked over and wrapped his strong arms around Toby, lifting him off the wet gravel. "It's over, Toby. You did it."
