Chapter 8: The Broadcast

With a single keystroke, Maya override the master projector feed.
The glowing corporate logo behind Eleanor vanished. In its place, the giant forty-foot screens flickered, revealing Arthur Sterling sitting in his home library just three weeks before his death.
The ballroom fell into dead silence. Eleanor froze, her smile hardening like wet plaster.
"If you are watching this," Arthur’s deep, resonant voice boomed through the high-end acoustics, "it means I was unable to protect myself. But I have ensured the truth will protect my daughter."
Glares of shock turned toward the stage. Guests began murmuring, their whispers rising into a roar of confusion.
"Eleanor Sterling, along with board directors Miller and Hoffman, have systematically diverted research funding away from public access to artificially inflate stock values," Arthur continued calmly on screen. "Furthermore, the digital log attached here proves they deliberately tampered with my prescription drugs."
On-screen, bank transfer receipts, audio snippets of Eleanor instructing physicians to increase Maya’s sedative dosages, and the original, unadulterated last will flashed in crystal-clear definition.

Reporters in the front row immediately lifted their smartphones and cameras, broadcasting the live feed across national news networks.
Eleanor turned toward the AV booth, her eyes blazing with murderous fury. "Cut the power! Cut it right now!" she screamed into the microphone, her voice shrieking through the speakers.
