Chapter 5: The Digital Vault

Samuel placed a heavy, black encrypted flash drive onto the workbench. "Arthur designed this drive with biometric security. It requires your retinal scan and a twelve-digit sequence only you would know."
Maya stared at the drive. Her mind raced through memories of her childhood—the late nights in her father’s study, the bedtime stories framed around mathematical puzzles, the day he gave her the small silver locket she used to wear before Eleanor threw it away.
"The Fibonacci sequence combined with my mother’s birthdate," Maya said quietly.
Samuel connected the drive to an offline terminal. Maya leaned into the retinal scanner; a red beam flashed across her eye. Her fingers typed the twelve digits onto the keyboard without hesitation.
ACCESS GRANTED.
Files spilled across the monitor in cascades of green and white. Audio recordings, bank transactions, offshore account numbers, and internal lab reports detailing the exact chemical composition of Arthur’s medication.
"Look at this," Samuel pointed at a transfer log. "Two million dollars wired from Eleanor’s personal trust to the head of the hospital pathology department on the day Arthur died. They falsified the autopsy report to hide the cardiac toxicity."

Maya’s hands balled into fists. "It’s not enough to take back the company. She killed him, Samuel. She took my father away from this world for a patent."
"Then we make sure the world hears him speak from the grave," Samuel replied, a fierce spark igniting in his old eyes.
