Chapter 15: A World Made Whole

One year later, the world had fundamentally shifted.

The events at the rail yard sparked a global awakening regarding healthcare ethics, corporate accountability, and basic human compassion. Raymond Cross surrendered his fortune to create the *Vance Foundation for Universal Healing*, spending the rest of his days working quietly in community clinics.

Evelyn's art gallery was transformed into a sanctuary and school for orphaned and gifted children. Her new sculpture—a monumental bronze work depicting a child lifting a broken dove into the morning sky—stood prominently in the city center.

On a warm spring morning, Evelyn walked through the garden path holding a sketchpad. Running across the lush green lawn was Toby. His silver hair caught the sunlight, shining like spun platinum, but his cheeks were rosy, his eyes bright, and his laughter loud and carefree. He was no longer a lonely miracle wandering the cold alleys; he was a boy with a family, a home, and a future.

He ran up to Evelyn, holding out a dandelion with a broken stem. He didn't use a magical glow to fix it. Instead, he carefully placed it into a small jar of fresh water and set it in the sun.

"Sometimes," Toby said with a bright smile, "you just need to give things time to grow on their own."

Evelyn smiled, taking his hand as they walked into the sunshine together—whole, healed, and finally home.
