Chapter 14: Rebuilding from the Ashes**

Three months later, the spring sun bathed the town of Willow Creek in brilliant shades of green and gold.
On a gentle hillside overlooking the river, a newly constructed craftsman home stood with wide wooden porches and floor-to-ceiling windows. It was designed by Julian himself—an architect's dream, built upon the very foundation of the home that had once been destroyed.
In the backyard, the sound of child’s laughter rang through the blossoming apple trees. Lily was running through the grass in bright yellow sneakers, chasing a golden retriever puppy that Julian had brought home the week prior.
On the porch, Clara sat in a wooden rocking chair, a warm cup of herbal tea in her hands. Her cheeks were full and rosy, her strength completely restored. She watched her daughter with an expression of serene peace.
Julian stepped out through the screen door, carrying two plates of fresh strawberry pancakes. He set them on the wooden table and leaned down, wrapping his arms around Clara from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.
“What are you thinking about?” Julian asked, inhaling the sweet, familiar scent of her lavender shampoo.
“I was thinking about the rain,” Clara replied softly, placing her hand over his. “How for six years, every time it rained, I felt terrified and cold. But now… the rain just feels like water.”
Lily came sprinting up the porch steps, breathless and giggling, holding a bright yellow dandelion. She ran straight to Julian and handed it to him with an enormous, proud grin.
“For you, Daddy! Because you’re the best builder in the whole world!”

Julian laughed, lifting Lily into the air and spinning her around until she shrieked with delight, before holding her tightly against his chest.
