Chapter 7: The Confrontation
The top floor of the Vance Tower was silent as the board members gathered around the long mahogany table. Arthur Vance stood at the head of the room, wearing a tailored suit, his expression a mix of nervousness and ambition. Beside him stood Richard Vance, their uncle, who had quietly supported Arthur's rise.
"Gentlemen," Arthur announced, laying out the legal documents. "Due to Julian's declining health and his inability to manage daily operations, today we vote to merge our logistics fleet with Apex Global."
"Is Julian aware of this final step?" one older board member asked.
"Julian is resting at home," Arthur said smoothly, leaning on the table. "His condition has deteriorated. He has given me full power of attorney."
Before anyone could sign, the heavy double doors of the boardroom swung open.
Marcus walked in first, holding the doors open. Behind him came Julian, sitting in his wheelchair, accompanied by Dr. Finch.

Arthur’s face drained of color. "Julian? What are you doing here? You should be resting—"
"I've rested long enough, Arthur," Julian said calmly, wheeling himself to the foot of the table. He picked up the transfer documents and glanced at them before tossing them aside. "This meeting is canceled."
