Downstairs, Victoria stormed out of the manor, her phone pressed tightly to her ear. Her calm demeanor was completely shattered. ""He found out,"" she hissed into the receiver. ""The kid pointed right at me."" On the other end of the line, a shadow from Darian’s past spoke: ""Make sure Darian never uncovers Maya’s journal, or we both lose everything."" Victoria wiped a stray tear of anger, her eyes narrowing with desperation. She had sacrificed too much to let a six-year-old child ruin her chance at inheriting the Vance empire.
