Chapter 15
Dawn broke over the private airfield in New Jersey, painting the sky in brilliant strokes of amber, violet, and pale gold. The tarmac glistened under a light morning dew, reflecting the crisp sunlight like a polished mirror. A sleek, newly painted Gulfstream sat quietly on the apron, its engines silent and primed for departure, flanked by a pristine black Mercedes sedan. Elena walked out toward the aircraft, wrapped in her signature ivory trench coat, her pearl earrings catching the morning light. There was no mist, no tension, and no unexpected interference—only the absolute quiet of an airfield waking up to a brand-new day under clear skies.
Claire stood near the foot of the boarding stairs, holding her digital tablet with a calm, professional smile, confirming the final flight clearance for the Geneva-London routing. Security personnel nodded respectfully as Elena approached, recognizing the quiet authority of a leader who had successfully navigated every storm and secured her enterprise against future threats. She paused for a moment at the base of the stairs, looking out over the expansive runway where her journey of resistance had truly solidified weeks before. The memory of Julian’s desperate betrayal felt distant now, reduced to a minor turbulence successfully weathered through calm resolve and unwavering principle.
She ascended the stairs with unhurried grace, pausing briefly at the cabin door to take in the vast, open horizon stretching out before her. The sky was completely clear, offering an unobstructed path across the Atlantic and beyond. She stepped inside the cabin, and the heavy door sealed shut with a solid, reassuring thud that signaled the beginning of a new chapter of uncompromised leadership. As the aircraft taxied smoothly toward the active runway and lifted effortlessly into the limitless blue sky above, Elena Holloway settled into her seat, ready to guide her global empire into a future defined by absolute integrity, strength, and vision.
