Chapter 10
The private Gulfstream taxied smoothly down the runway at Teterboro Airport, its engines humming with quiet, effortless power. This time, there was no mist, no chaotic confrontation, and no unauthorized interference on the tarmac. Elena walked up the metal boarding stairs with unhurried grace, her ivory trench coat catching the bright morning sunlight. Claire stood inside the cabin door, offering a warm, genuine smile of welcome as Elena stepped onto the plush carpeting of the private jet. The interior was immaculate, configured for absolute comfort and operational efficiency, serving as a floating boardroom that bridged continents without missing a beat of executive oversight.
As the aircraft ascended smoothly through the cloud layer, breaking into the brilliant blue sky above, Elena settled into her leather seat and opened her briefing files for the upcoming aviation summit in Geneva. The conference represented a critical turning point for the industry, bringing together global regulators, airline executives, and sustainable transport innovators to establish new standards for private and commercial aviation. Unlike previous years, where she had often allowed deputies to represent her while she managed internal friction, Elena was attending as the undisputed chief executive and majority stakeholder, ready to steer international partnerships toward transparent, ethical growth.
Looking out the aircraft window at the endless expanse of white clouds below, she reflected on how close the company had come to being hijacked by ambition without character. The betrayal on the tarmac had been a painful crucible, but it had also clarified her vision for the future. True power was not maintained by holding onto toxic associations or appeasing opportunistic climbers; it was sustained by absolute adherence to principle, unyielding preparedness, and the quiet courage to stand firm when someone tried to push you off your own flight. The journey across the Atlantic would take several hours, but every minute brought her closer to a revitalized global enterprise built on solid foundations.
